Yass! We’re back!
How excited were you? Last time we saw him, Jamie was sitting in the window with a gun pointed at Douchebag Randall.
And finally, here we are after months that felt like forever.
Oh, they added a lil’ something for us.
Surprise. The episode is from Jamie’s POV:

So Jamie was having some sort of a crisis?
He confronted this Horrocks dude to get the name of whoever committed the murder he was blamed for. Also he was super handsome in this scene. Don’t mind the inner monologue.
Guess who’d murdered the guy Jamie hadn’t murdered?
Yup. King of evil douchery. Black Jack Randall. Horrocks got the money and looked smug.
Don’t ever “whatever bro” Jamie.
The dude was happy.
Are we surprised? Really?
Then it got better because as Jamie said, he doesn’t have it easy.
So the mission to rescue their beloved Sassenach began. (I love how the boys and Murtagh helped and risked their lives by the way)
🎶 Dum dum dum dum… Dum dum dum dum… Da da da- da da da 🎶
Jamie heard Claire scream.
Jack was beyond happy to see Jamie. He asked if he’d like to join them.
Jamie was only bluffing with the gun and Jack was fooled.
Jamie Smash!
But Jack only passed out and Jamie couldn’t kill a man who wouldn’t be able to defend himself.
Oh Jamie. *deep sigh* That was dumb.
Claire and Jamie’s escape was fun.
Later they had a break to have a little chat.
Jamie wanted her to apologize because you know, she shouldn’t have wandered off and put herself in danger but Jamie’s anger was pretty thoughtless because Claire obviously was the one at most risk. And he was like, “Well, tough, how about me??”
Favorite scene so far.
Jamie,
we get it.
You know that word.
Calm down bb.
Claire & Jamie fan club was happy their OTP was back together.
Jamie was hurt, you guys. He did bravely, and without a weapon, risk his life and more to save her so he had a point.
Claire understood that.
Her chin trembled and she got pouty and they were cute again.
Jamie talked to us and admitted he’d forgive her for everything because he was falling in love.
You’re not all that subtle anyway, James.
Our boys went back after the successful mission.
Everyone was laughing and joking but they completely ignored Claire?
Murtagh had something to say because he’s a relationship expert.
Yeah Jamie.
DON’T. LISTEN. TO. THESE. GUYS.
They thought women didn’t have orgasms, for God’s sake.
Why won’t you learn?
Jamie was restless.
I tried not to go for a Fifty Shades of Grey joke. And I failed. It was expected of me. See? Peer pressure can make you do horrible things.
No I’m lying. I take full responsibility and hang my head in shame.
Jamie told her the deal. People normally get flogged and even killed for putting others at risk. She was one of them and had to get her punishment just like everyone else and Jamie had to do it as her husband.
I hated and loved this scene. Loved it because Claire is such a fierce bamf doing everything she can to get out of this situation. Hated it because it’s not funny when you’re trying to run away from someone who’s trying to beat you.
We even had music because it’s Jamie’s POV and this was more of a “mission” or even a “game” for him. But I was rooting for Claire “The Tigress” Fraser.
Claire was throwing whatever she found at him.
Men downstairs:
Me too Angus. Me too.
The bastard got her.
A kick to the nose by Clairee! Yass Queen!
In the meantime:
Well, he’s kind of a perv.
Next day:
Rupert and Murtagh were joking and telling her she’d be fine. Ned asked her to sit with him.
They didn’t really get why she was mad at them.
Finally back at Castle Leoch:
I have a feeling maybe Colum wasn’t happy with the marriage.
Yeah, speaking of that.
Angus and Rupert shouting from the distance: “NotAllHighlanders”
So sad.
Jamie, that a vague-ass conversation.
I can’t even blame her for getting her hopes up because he only says his marriage was Dougal’s idea and tells her they’ll talk.
In the meanwhile, Colum (who might have just become one of my favorites with his passive aggressive snarkiness) gathered his three main peeps for some fun.
Uh oh.
He knew they’d collected money for Jacobites and he wasn’t happy!
Dougal was unapologetic and then he casually made a point to remind Colum that he was the biological father of Colum’s son.
Confronted with Colum’s anger, Jamie explained that it was Dougal’s idea for him to marry Claire.
(No mention of how he probably did a little victory dance when Dougal suggested it.)
Later we had Jamie ranting and Claire getting ready to sleep.
REJECTED.
The next day, the guys had figured out the spy among them.
Suddenly they were divided as MacKenzies and Frasers and it seemed like:
“Two households, both alike in dignity(In fair Castle Leoch, where we lay our scene),From ancient grudge break to new mutiny,Where civil blood makes civil hands unclean.“
I can’t help it.
Later Jamie was like: “Give Peace a chance.”
Obviously, Colum was enlightened. He called Ned and Dougal for a meeting and just stood there with his back to them.
Dougal was like: Bro, I don’t have all day.
Colum reminded Dougal of his oath. Dougal said he would never break it. It was also an oath to Scotland.
Jamie was obviously influenced by his example.
Colum let Dougal have the money for the Jacobites and told Ned to invite The Duke of Sandringham to a banquet in his honor.
Later Jamie:
But it was gonna get harder.
She went on and on about her feelings while Jamie was like:
Well. Jamie.
I don’t know what you were expecting. He told Leoghr- (I must look it up, guys, wait.) Laoghaire.
He told Laoghaire that she could only look but not touch because there was only one person who could touch him. So he went to talk to her.
Wow, go on.
Claire was hurt. Caitriona’s face is everything here because all the conflicting emotions are there: pain, anger, fear, love, reasonable horniness.
So why did Claire forgive Jamie? She may have given him a chance because she simply wants to trust him. Maybe she also sees his understanding of how things can be solved differently even though he’s been born and raised in a violent world. Jamie realizes that the behavior of other men isn’t necessarily what he and Claire need in their relationship. Because let’s be honest, punishment is a big part of Jamie’s life and we’re talking about merciless, “disciplinary” punishment used by the closest people to him and his learning process is clear throughout this episode. Jamie is struggling and learning how to be a “man” and a loving husband. In the end, he decides that he needs to change his perception of both because he sees that he can’t hurt and love his wife at the same time.
Then they have intense sexy times again.
This time Claire made her point.
Jamie says she’s his master because he can’t possess her without losing his own soul.
Translation: We’re equals now.
Then Claire finds this.
“Laoghaire”
*Sigh*
Can’t they catch a break??
#LeaveClaireAlone
*Takes Claire and flies away*
Also I realized how much of a difference Claire’s point of view makes for the show. I missed her and she is always more interesting for me.
Sorry, Jamie. I love you but Claire’s my girl.
So what was the best part of the episode for you guys? For me, it’s Claire being a bamf, Colum being mad, Angus being cute and Jamie’s cheekbones.
